BIO: Jason Jin-Hyung Bae was born in 1991, in Daejeon, South Korea. He is currently 3rd yearunder graduate student of Bachelor of Music in University of Auckland, under the tutelage of Ms Rae de Lisle for past 9 years. He was accepted as a student and have spent five summers in the prestigious Aspen Music Festival and School since 2007 until 2011 under the tutelageof Ms Ann Schein.

Jason was the 1st Prize Winner of the 2008 Bradshaw & Buono International Piano Competition in New York and as a result, he had the debut recital in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, in New York City, on May 2008. In that same year, he was awarded as NewZealand Young Performer of the Year. In 2009, he was the 2nd Prize Winner with the BestChopin Prize at the Lev Vlassenko International Piano Competition in Brisbane, Australia. In2010, he was the 1st Prize Winner of the University of Auckland Gala Concerto Competition, performing Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto.

He debuted as a soloist with 2010 New Zealand National Youth Symphony Orchestraunder the baton of Maestro Rossen Milanov performing Stravinsky Concerto for Piano and Winds. The New Zealand Herald reviewed him as “an imperturbable soloist”. His concerto apperances include; New Zealand National Youth Symphony Orchestra, Queensland Symphony Orchestra of Australia, Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra, Auckland SymphonyOrchestra, Auckland Youth Symphony Orchestra, Christchurch Symphony Orchestra and Bach Musica Chamber Symphony Orchestra.

Jason has performed for the high profiles such as the President of the European Union, Jose Manuel Barroso, Former Governor-General of New Zealand, Rt. Hon. Anand Satyanand, Former Prime Minister - Helen Clark. He has also performed in the masterclasses for world-renowned artists such as Claude Frank, Joan Havill, Piers Lane, John O’Conor, John Perry,Ann Schein, Marcella Crudeli, Christopher Hinterhuber, Noriko Ogawa, Michael Houston and Stephen de Pledge. His recitals have taken place in Auckland, Wellington, Tauranga,Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Aspen and New York City.

Congratulations to the All Blacks!

Mollies has been busy these last few weeks hosting some international stars who had flown in for the World Cup - we just said good-bye to a family who were with us for just under 2 weeks from Australia.

Well....we want to keep celebrating - well the whole year should be a celebration.

We have some wonderful events coming up and we invite you to view our

On 3rd November - we have Hannah Willemse a talented pianist who will perform for our guests for 1 hour.

12th November - Mollies together with other notable restaurants like The Depot, Soul, and Clooney to name a few will host dinners at our respective establishments where the proceeds for the evening will be donated to the "Garden to Table Trust".

"Well known Auckland food personality Catherine Bell started Garden to Table in 2009, and modelled it around Stephanie Alexander’s Kitchen Garden project in Australia. The programme began with three schools and now supports seven – Owairaka, Peninsula, Dawsons Road, East Tamaki, Meadowbank, and Edendale Primaries in Auckland, and Moanataiari in Thames. Many children, their families and wider communities are benefiting from these programmes, which have proven positive effects, including boosting attendance, increasing children’s willingness to try new foods and engaging non-academic learners.

The money raised will be used both to support the existing programmes, and to allow more primary schools from throughout the country join the Garden to Table programme. "

Mollies is happy to announce that we will be hosting internationally acclaimed pianist Rami Bar-Niv at a free concert recital on Wednesday 7th September 2011 at 6.30pm.

Rami Bar-Niv is one of Israel's most acclaimed and sought after pianists. He travels extensively and has become an international citizen, concertizing all over the world. Born in Tel-Aviv, he graduated with honors from the Rubin Academy of Music, and was the recipient of many prizes and scholarships. He won the America-Israel Cultural Foundation Competition and was awarded a scholarship to further his studies in the United States. After graduating from the Mannes College of Music in New York, where he studied with the renowned Mme. Nadia Reisenberg, he won numerous competitions and embarked on a highly successful concert career. Ever since, he performs regularly in North, Central and South America, Europe, Africa, Australia and of course Israel, where he recently received the best performer award.

He appears on TV and radio, in chamber ensembles, solo recitals, and as a soloist with orchestras, and is always received with great enthusiasm. Often sent abroad by the Foreign Ministry to represent Israel in concerts, he has become an ambassador or goodwill for Israel.

Rami Bar-Niv made history by being the first, and so far the only, Israeli artist to perform in Egypt following the Begin/Sadat Peace Treaty.

His recordings for CBS and other labels in Israel and abroad have met with praise and popularity. Rami Bar-Niv offers music of great variety and contrast in style, and is an extremely versatile performer.

Busy with a concert career, Rami started devoting more time to composing later in life. He studied composition with Israel's foremost composers, amongst them Paul Ben-Haim, Alexander Uriyah Boskovich, Abel Ehrlich, Yehoshua Lakner and Oedoen Partos. His compositions are published, recorded and performed world wide.

Ingrid Starnes & Sera Lilly showcased their latest collections, and Natalie Chan's Millinery was cleverley used as ornamental table displays to whet ones appetite.

The Sanctuary Day Spa at Mollies announced the arrival of our new spa product "Sodashi" and gave away spa vouchers to a few lucky ladies, and Team McMillan BMW also gifted tickets to Cole Porter's "Anything Goes" Broadway production that will be showing here in Auckland.

Mollies in conjunction with Lewis Eady's Emerging Artists Series for 2011 will host Camellia Wong for one night - Tuesday 12th July at 630pm. Recital will be complimentary. BiographyBorn in Sydney, Camellia Wong commenced piano lessons at the age of four. She attained her Associate in Music in 2003 and her Licentiate in Music with Distinction in 2006, and was subsequently invited to perform at the AMEB Awards Ceremony the following year. In 2008, she commenced her tertiary studies at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, undertaking a Bachelor of Music in Performance degree. There, she has been the recipient of numerous prizes – The Fred Boulter Scholarship, the Ernest Trenchard Miller Scholarship, the Bessie Cook Award, the Vaila Mead Memorial Scholarship, in addition to a number of University Merit Awards. In 2010, Camellia was awarded the National Council of Women of NSW Australia Day Award in recognition of her achievements in her university studies, and also the prize of Most Outstanding Tertiary Recitalist from the Theme and Variations Emerging Artist Series. In August of 2010, she was invited to give a series of performances at the site of the Australian Pavilion, Shanghai World Expo.
Camellia is currently in her final year at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, where research into the piano sonatas of Sir Michael Tippett forms the bulk of her honours thesis. She has studied under Daniel Herscovitch since 2008, and counts amongst her past teachers – Dr. Paul Rickard-Ford, James Muir and Kathy Axam. She maintains a particular interest in contemporary music and music written for early keyboard instruments, and as such, also studies harpsichord under eminent Australian performing scholar, Dr. Neal Peres da Costa.
